Honored artist of the RSFSR. Member of the Union of artists. Painter. Born in 1930 in the village of Bektas Novosibirsk region. In 1961 he graduated from the Nizhny Tagil art school.

T. E. Kovalenko - one of many Ural artists for which the topic of human labour was crucial in creativity. A large series of paintings devoted to the great Patriotic war ("On the roads of war" (1967-1970), "Driver war" (1969), "the day of 9 may," "Time of grief" (1991), etc.). A series of paintings 1968-1985. dedicated to people "difficult professions" - steelmakers, coal miners ("Steelworkers at the controls" (1967), "Man and metal" (1967), "Industrial heat" (1968-1973), "Morning" (1974), "self-Portrait with steelmaker by I. Since 1964 T. E. Kovalenko participated in all city and regional art exhibitions in the cities of Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk, Perm; was a member of the all-Union, Republican, zone exhibitions. Personal exhibitions of works were held in Perm. state art gallery (1984, 2000). Works are in the collections of PGHG, museums of Perm. region, the Urals, Siberia, the Far East, in the Moscow regional art gallery in Dolgoprudny and in private collections in Russia and abroad.
