Biography and information

Muralist. He graduated from the Moscow art Institute (1941). He studied under I. Grabar, M. Shemyakin. Since 1948 participating in exhibitions. In 1948 he became a member mossh. Major works: triptych "the flag of Victory over Berlin" (Academy of fine arts, St. Petersburg), "Liberation" (mosaic, Institute of Asia and Africa, Moscow), murals at the station "Kiev-radial" and the Central panel "a Celebration of the Ukrainian people" of the Moscow metro. Victor Konovalov was repeatedly elected a member of the Board, the Bureau of the section of the artistic Council of the Union of artists of the RSFSR.

In 1936 he entered the Moscow State Art Institute. V. I. Surikov.

In 1942, drafted into the red Army. In the composition of 928 infantry 252 infantry division involved in the battle of Stalingrad. Became one of the three surviving soldiers of the regiment. Awarded the medal "For defense of Stalingrad".

In 1943, at the request of I. E. Grabar withdrawn from the front and evacuated PERMI.

In 1944-1945 in a part of the Art Studio of the Main political Directorate of the border troops makes a trip to Warsaw, Prague, Budapest.

In 1947 he graduated from the Institute for the Studio of the academician I. E. Grabar.

Known for creating fresco paintings at the Metro station "Kievskaya" (including the panel "Friendship of peoples"), as well as the lobby of the hotel "Ukraine".

Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

Picturesque works are in private collections in Russia and abroad.
