Biography and information

Born in Uzhgorod. People's artist of the USSR since 1982. He studied in 1927 – 1931 in OHS A. Erdelyi, 1940 – 1942 – Roman OH F. Ferrari. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. The works of A. Kotska original in style and are of the highest flavor. People's artist of Ukraine. Lived and worked in Uzhgorod.

Finished Uzhhorod teacher's Seminary (1927-1931). He was a student, "Public school of drawing" by A. Erdeli and Y. bokshay. After finishing Seminary, is a teacher in the mountain villages of Transcarpathia (Carpathian Ruthenia) and at the same time engaged in painting. Together with artist A. Boretsky organizes his first exhibition in Uzhhorod (1933). Further personal exhibitions were held in Uzhgorod (1935), Prague (1937), takes part in the exhibition "Slovakia and Subcarpathian Rus". After receiving a special scholarship, continuing his studies in Rome at the Academy of arts in Ferucci, Perazzi and the Academy of St. Luke (1940-1942). People's artist of Ukraine (1982). His works adorn the museums of Kiev, Odessa, Kharkov and other cities. 13 A. Kotska located in Moscow in the Tretyakov gallery. Memorial house-Museum of folk artist of Ukraine A. Kotska has been operating since 1990.
