Biography and information

Artist of T-ra and cinema, Nar. thin USSR (1989), Corr. Academy of Arts of the USSR (1988). He graduated from VGIK (1962), a student of Yu.I. Pimenov and M.I. Kurilko. Since 1963 he designed performances in Moscow. and leningrad. t-rah, worked in the movies. Since 1965, an artist, in 1988-95 ch. artist of the Bolshoi Theater. Since 1983 he taught at the artistic production department of the Moscow Art Theater School, since 1988 he is a professor.

Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Honored Artist of the RSFSR.

 

He graduated from VGIK in 1962. In 1963 he made his debut as a theater artist at the M.N. Ermolova Theater and at the Musical Theater named after K. S. Stanislavsky and Vl. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko. From 1965 he worked as a production designer, and in 1988-1995. - The main artist of the Bolshoi Theater. Since 1979, he has staged performances based on the plays by A. Gelman, M. Roshchin, L. Petrushevskaya, S. Mrozhek, A. Ostrovsky, as well as The Seagull, Uncle Vanya, Cherry Orchard, and Three sisters ”by A. Chekhov, posed by O. Efremov. He worked in Italy in theaters "La Scala", "Communal" and in other foreign music and drama theaters. State Prize of the Russian Federation (1994).
