Graduated from Art school in Odessa. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. In 1914 - 1917 he lived in Moscow and was close to unity. "World of art". In 1818 - 1923 lived in Central Asia. He worked in publishing houses, was Deputy Chairman of the Turkestan Committee for museums, conservation and restoration of monuments. Since 1923 he lived in Moscow. Worked in museums, including the Tretyakov gallery. In 1925-1926 visited the Jewish colonies in Ukraine and Crimea, the results of which created a series of works on Jewish settlements and a series of portraits.

Painter, graphic artist, art historian. Bright representative of the Moscow school of painting. He graduated from the Odessa art College. Studied at Amshey Nuremberg, George Ladyzhenskaya. In 1914 - 1917 he lived in Moscow and was close to unity. "World of art". In 1818 - 1923 lived and worked in Central Asia. He was Deputy Chairman of the Turkestan Committee for museums, conservation and restoration of monuments. In 1925-1926 visited the Jewish colonies in the Ukraine and in the Crimea, created a series of works on Jewish settlements and a series of portraits. From 1923 he lived in Moscow. Worked as a senior curator of the Department of new Russian art the state Tretyakov gallery. Was one of the organizers and sponsors of exhibition concept, the artists bubnovaya in halls of the Tretyakov gallery on March 1, 1927.
