Honored artist of Russia. He studied at the Odessa art Institute (1928-1932). Was a student of D. Krainev, A. Gauche. In 1940-1941 she attended courses of improvement of qualification in Moscow state. V. I. Surikov. In the 1930s, worked in Odessa, then - in Moscow. Specialized in creating portraits and still lifes. Participant of exhibitions since 1939 participated Regularly in all-Union art exhibitions. The works of G. I. Zeitlin are in the state Tretyakov gallery (Moscow), many Russian museums and in Museum and private collections of England, Germany, USA, France and Japan. The artist's work has sold at auction Sotheby's and Christie's.
