The autobiography of the artist A. M. Cherkassky

[25.6 (7.7).1886, White Church,-30.11.1967, Alma-ATA], a Soviet painter, people's. Kood. Kazakh. CCP (1963). He studied at the Kiev arts, Uch-school (1901-09) from AA Murashko and the St. Petersburg. AX (1909-17) in H. H. Dubovsky, V. E. Savinsky, J. F. Tsionglinskogo. One of the first in Ukraine turned to the subject of life of the Soviet peasantry ("the tractor", 1928, Museum of Ukrainian. to portray the art of the Ukrainian SSR, Kiev). From 1941 he worked in Kazakhstan. As a teacher (1941-58 taught at of Arts, Uch-school them. H. V. Gogol in Alma-ATA) and the artist has played an important role in the training of professional Kazakh artists. Among his students was S. Mambeev, K. Eljanov etc. the author of the lyric. and the epich. landscapes, often executed in a vigorous, broad manner of painting, compositional. paintings, portraits ("the people's artist of the Kazakh CCP, K. W. Bagirov", Fig. see T. 11, table. XIX, p. 160-161), still-lifes. Awarded the order "badge of Honor" and a medal.
