Painter. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR.
Born in 1923 in the village Warm in Tula region. In 1945, after demobilization from the army he entered the Moscow higher art-industrial College (former. Stroganov). He studied at the artists A. V. Kuprin, V. P. Kuznetsov, Sergei Gerasimov. In 1950 in the Studio of muralist V. F. Bardachenko completed a thesis — multi-figure composition "Triumph of science" for the painting of the ceiling in one of the pavilions of ENEA in Moscow.
Until 1954, he taught drawing at MVHPU Stroganovsky school. At this time, did the painting of the ceiling in the pavilion "Agriculture" at ENEA. In 1954 he moved to Leningrad and worked in the Plant pictorial and decorative art. In 1965 the first personal exhibition was held, which featured 38 works (portraits and landscapes).
In 1974 was held the second personal exhibition in the House of Culture. Gas, where he exhibited over 80 works, landscapes, portraits. The works in the exhibition was highly praised by the President of the Academy of Arts B. S. Ugarov. In 1975 he became a member of the Union of artists of the USSR.
In 1976-1980 he wrote a large gallery of veterans of the siege of the "Road of life" and veterans of the great Patriotic war. 8 portraits of this gallery are now in the Museum "Road of life", and 9 portraits in the Museum of history of St. Petersburg.
In 1991, N. With.Chukov was invited by the firm "Arcola" in France for the implementation of children's portraits. In Paris for 3 months, the artist executed several state children's and adult portraits. The artist's works have been exhibited at the auctions of this company in France and Germany. Several major works of the artist are in private collections and museums of Paris, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, new York. In 1998 the artist was elected a corresponding member of the Petrovskaya Academy of Sciences and arts.
N. With.Chukov is representative of the best traditions of Russian realistic school. In all his work, whether portrait, landscape or still life, is always definitely and masterfully conveys not only the color and the plasticity of nature, but also its internal state. The artist adheres to the classical tradition of Russian portrait, with his attention and respect for the individual, interest in psychology and desire through external features to reveal the internal contents of the model. His portraits are people of different professions, scientists, musicians, workers, townspeople and villagers. A special place is occupied by portraits of children, charming and touching.
