Biography and information

He studied in a monastery in his native Croatia, and later in Italy under the direction of Giulio Romano.

Clovio, was for some time court painter to the king of Hungary in Ofen, and then, postriglas a monk, he lived in Mantua and Rome where there is a blossoming of his talent through the study of the art of Michelangelo. Famous for the superb miniatures that the order of sovereign persons, distinguished persons and wealthy monasteries, adorned prayer books, liturgical books and other manuscripts.
