We list only a small fraction of the more than eight hundred of portraits belonging to the brush of Ivan Turina (and exhibited at trade fairs in different academic years.

Portraits: 1867 — V. I. Miatlev, T. B. Potemkina, K. F. Schulz, Vice-Admiral Nordmann, Prince Golitsyn, P. I. Miatlev; 1868 — Prince Golitsyn, Prozorovsky, Abalkina, General Barantsova; 1869 — General gr. Baranova, Ms. Baranova, G. Sokolova; 1879 — the adjutant General Kaufman, A. A. Kraevsky, Prince Abashidze-Gorlenko; count N. P. Ignatiev, P. S. Vannovsky, P. V. Zhukovsky, General Adelson, E. I. Zorina.

Most of the painted portraits record the faces of government officials of high rank. Probably many of them are written without the participation of the soul, or simply are artisan crafts masters.

But many genuine samples of high portraiture. So, the title of academician I. A. Tyurin received for "portrait of a Professor of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, Archimandrite Gregory."

He was born in the village of Golyadkin Nizhny Novgorod province. He studied at the Academy of fine arts in the Studio of a famous teacher at Markov. His independent work began with landscapes and genre paintings. He devoted himself as portraits and religious painting. His religious art is also impressive. Icons and murals, I. A. Tyurin graced many of the provincial churches of that time, including, for example, the images for all of the Voronezh Cathedral. The total number executed by the artist of the icons was close to two hundred.
