A. S. Lindeberg was born in the family of engineer of ways of communication. At age 19, changed a few professions and Hobbies, Alexander entered the pedagogical College of art. Was in charge of the school, Jan Konstantinovich Shablovsky, thanks to which the artist carried through his life. Exactly Ian K. took a cordial part in the fate of a young man. Began professional study under the direction of S. A. Butler, A. A. Gromov, I. Solomonov, A. I. Chugunov.

The school was taught by wonderful artists - M. A. Aslamazyan, V. I. Beyer, I. A. Korotkov, V. N. Levitsky, A. N. Fellendorf, D. F. Filippov - teacher who made the future artist professional and creative quality.

The Soviet-Finnish war and the Great Patriotic war, torn from peaceful labor. In the summer of 1941 he was drafted and was assigned to the First special brigade of naval infantry reconnaissance platoon commander. In the battle of Krasny Village on 11 September 1941, the young officer was seriously wounded. As a result of injuries lost efficiency right hand. For the artist it was a huge loss, but in the hospital he began to learn to own left hand.

After the war, he returned to teaching and taught drawing and composition. In 1947 he was admitted to the Leningrad Union of Artists.

In 1946, V. I. Kurdov, after seeing the drawings of the artist, struck by his ease and ability to grab a few strokes resemblance, individuality of the animal, advised to focus on the animal chart. Great support was rendered by such experienced artists as K. I. Rudakov, E. I. Charushin, G. P. Fitingof, G. S. Vereysky, N. A. Pavlov, And A. F. Pakhomov....

In 70-e years the artist was fascinated by the landscape, he created a series of landscapes of Staraya Ladoga.

In recent years he wrote his memoirs, wrote stories, novels. Several of his short stories and excerpts from the memoirs were published in anthologies and magazines.

Through all his life Alexander Lindeberg has carried his second passion - the love of horses. Starting in his youth in the equestrian school OSOAVIAKHIM, always used every opportunity to cover shifts at the arena, participated in competitions for veteran riders, was a judge of Republican category in equestrian sport, worked as a trainer in the equestrian sections of Sestroretsk, Pushkin, Kolpino.

Alexander always worked, every morning from behind a Desk. Even in the most recent years when his sight began to weaken until he could discern the colors, he continued to work. And advice to novice artists gave always the same: "Work, work to do," he said....
