Alexander Popov (he was born in 1885, died in 1942 in Leningrad) — Russian and Soviet painter working in the landscape genre. He studied the profession at the Imperial Academy of Arts, where his mentor was the famous master of the Russian school of landscape painting N. Dubovskoy. Popov was exhibited at the exhibition of the Peredvizhniki group, and after the elimination of this Association joined the Leningrad Union of artists. The painter died in the besieged Leningrad, in 1942, a terrible year.
