Painter. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. Associate Professor.
In 1952 he graduated from the Riga art school of J. Rozentals fine arts and in 1958 the Department of painting at the Latvian State Academy of arts with the thesis "an Afternoon NAP" (under the guidance of E. Kalnins), in 1992 he received a master's degree.
The artist was a teacher at the Preparatory courses of the Latvian Academy of arts (1959 – 61), a senior teacher at the chair of Drawing (1961 – 89), head of the Department of Painting (1989 – 91), associate Professor (1968), Professor (1989).

Personal exhibitions are organized in the Museum of the Dale are (1982, together with I. Vecozols), Naukseni (1989), Riga (1989), Cesis and Valmiera (1989, together with S. Ozolins).
Since 1961 he is a member of the Union of artists, actively worked in the Bureau of Painting section, the Board of the Union, the art Fund Council of the Arts, and also in the commissions of the organizing Committee of the days of the Arts. Since 1993 the artist is member of international art Association "To 13".
In 1958 V. Ozols was awarded the honorary diploma of the USSR Union of artists for creative work in all-Union exhibition in Moscow. In 1988 the artist was awarded the title of Honored worker of arts of the Latvian SSR.
