Cesare Mussini

Massini Cesare (Cesare Mussini) is a German-Italian artist who was born in Berlin. died in Florence, and lived for many years in Russia. Court painter to Grand Duke of Tuscany and Professor at the Florentine Academy of fine arts, Cesare Mussini was attracted to the painting Issakievsky Cathedral. The artist twice in 1845-1846 1849-1850 years and came to St. Petersburg and even managed to get here the title of honorary member of the Imperial Academy of arts. For St. Isaac's Cathedral Cesare Mussini wrote six. They were installed in the niches of the pylons. Up to now from them remained only three: "Circumcision," "Baptism of Jesus" and "Candlemas".
