Frolov Aleksei Ivanovich (28.10.1929 - 9.09.2007) 4B Painter, landscape painter. Born in Nizhny Novgorod. He studied at the Gorky art school (1947– 1952). Since 1953 and until his death lived in the town of Dzerzhinsk. In 1964 the first among the artists of the city of Dzerzhinsk, Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod) region becomes a member of the Union of artists of the USSR. He was the chief artist of the city of Dzerzhinsk (1969-1975). Taught drawing in a secondary school No. 5, school No. 1 city of Dzerzhinsk, Gorky region (1952-1966) and in the Studio of Palace of pioneers (1966– 1968). From 1975 to 1989 he worked in the Gorky art production workshops of the art Fund of the city of Gorky. He was elected to the Board of the Gorky branch of the CX and the arts Council in Gorky's artistic and production workshops. Master of lyric and the urban landscape. From 1952 a constant participant of many city, regional, zonal and Republican exhibitions. Having been in 1977 on a creative summer residence in the Krasnodar Krai, Alexey writes a series of paintings: "Hot Key. Night" (1977), "The Mountain. Hot Key" (1977), "A Sanatorium. Hot Key" (1977), "Cuban landscape" (1977), "the Mountain flower" (1978). In the 60-ies - 70-ies of the last century, despite the fact that in the art world of the Soviet Union was not very welcomed by the image of churches, Alexei Ivanovich Frolov creates a series of landscape works depicting temples and monasteries. On his travels to historical places of Russia can be judged by the titles of the works written as a result of these trips: "Torzhok" (1965), "Dome Rostov the Great" (1968), "the Belfry of Rostov the Great" (1968), "the City of Gorokhovets" (1979), N. Novgorod. The Cathedral of the Annunciation" (1987), "Murom" (1988), "on the seat. The Cathedral Of The Nativity Of Christ" (1989), "St. Basil's Cathedral" (1995), "The Village Frolishchi" (1996), "V. Novgorod. Saint Sophia Cathedral" (1999), "Kostroma. Exhibition of these works entitled "Russia white stone" was released only in 2004 and was timed to the 75th anniversary of the author. The theme of Pushkin in painting Frolova - a separate big topic. The poet was close to the artist. He often visited Boldino, Mikhailovskoe. And every time I visit these places, sought to capture and convey in color Pushkin's attitude to the sense of nature. Thus was born the cycle of his works, "Boldin On the ground," consisting of more than four dozen canvases. And in 1999, the year of Pushkin's jubilee, was opened by the exhibition of these landscapes, which was a great success.
