Anatoly began exhibiting in 1993. The artist's works are in private collections in Russia and abroad. Anatoly Orlov’s canvases remind French representatives of “lyrical abstraction” in that they do not show anything external and do not refer to anything other than themselves. But at the same time, the painting of this artist is definitely a new form of self-expression in contemporary art. Each abstract work contains a very real plot and the names of the paintings only help to reveal what the author wanted to say. The viewer in front of the paintings gets into the space created by them and feels the tension emanating from their presence. This physical, tactile, sensual presence gives off a powerful flow of energy, but it is also metaphysical, since it leads to internal reflection. Having retained in the subconscious mind what has already been done in art, as a kind of plasma, Anatoly finds his plastic moves and innovations. So, for example, the so-called “fragmentary” painting (Anatoly's know-how) appeared, when the artist takes a fragment of his abstract painting and begins to work with him, creating new works. As the author himself says: “This is not a simple overlay of colors, it is a deep meaningful process” (Victoria Khan-Magomedova)

The artist prefers real materials, but he is also interested in a lot of what is being done today in digital form. Anatoly is always open for cooperation and joint projects.
