A vibrant nightlife, high variety shows and bizarre fair scenes - for Max Beckman (1884-1950) the city is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. In Frankfurt, he creates his graphic masterpieces between impressions of the First World War and the splendor of the 1920s. With radical objectivity, he expresses the sight of life. His critical and caricatured works are unique.
Exhibitionfocuses on Beckman's graphics, portfolio and book illustrations of the Frankfurt years.
The exhibition features more than 50 etchings, lithographs and woodcuts.
