A large-scale exhibition has opened in the halls of the museum and exhibition complex of the Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts of Sergei Andriyaka
The Great Art of Arkady Plastov- The largest retrospective of the artist - academician of the Russian Academy of Arts.
The exposition totals over 400 works of the great master. 9 Russian museums provided their masterpieces, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, which shared six famous canvases (“Mama”, “The Sun”, “In the Village”, etc.) and twelve gouaches - mainly illustrations for the story of L. N. Tolstoy's “Canvas meter”. For all their undeniable beauty and significance, they have never left the Tretyakov stores, and only at this exhibition they will see the light for the first time.
The basis of the exhibition is an impressive collection of the artist’s family. His grandson, Honored Artist of Russia Nikolai Plastov, as an active painter himself, devoted himself entirely to preserving and popularizing the heritage of his great grandfather. In the artist’s collection, generously presented at the exhibition, there are such pearls as the famous canvas “Tractor Drivers” and the last, fourth version of the painting “The Fascist Passed”. Remarkable large-format canvases were presented at the exhibition by the Volgograd, Ulyanovsk and Smolensky art museums, the State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSIZO, marvelous portraits and landscapes - museums of Kaluga, Kazan, Rostov and Moscow.
