Exhibition March 12 − June 7, 2020
State Tretyakov Gallery presents an exhibition project“Golden map of Russia. Painting of the XVIII - XX centuries from the collection of the Chuvash State Art Museum ".

On display are paintings from the collection of the Chuvash State Art Museum: artists of the eighteenth and first half of the nineteenth centuries - V.A. Tropinin, the second half of the nineteenth century - V.G. Perova, I.N. Kramskoy, V.D. Polenova, I.I. Levitan, beginning of the twentieth century - V.A. Serova, I.E. Grabar, K.F. Yuona, K.S. Petrova-Vodkina, Z.E. Serebryakova, R.R. Falk. In total, the exhibition features 76 paintings and drawings.

Of particular interest is the section in which the works of the first Chuvash artists who were educated at the Imperial Academy of Arts are exhibited: painting by A.A. Kokel, characterized by stylistic diversity, and the works of N.K. Sverchkova on the theme of the Chuvash epic.

Despite the fact that the collection of Russian painting of the XVIII - early XX centuries of the Chuvash State Art Museum is relatively small, the exhibition in the State Tretyakov Gallery presents the works of artists whose work occupies a significant place in the history of Russian art, and paintings allow you to trace the stages of its development.
