Know when to stop!

Exhibition March 4 − June 27, 2021
The State Historical Museum (GMI) presents an exhibition "Know when to stop!", which characterizes domestic metrology for more than two hundred years.

The exposition presents a set of items from the collection of scientific instruments and instruments of the 17th – 19th centuries, including rare specimens of weights, scales, steelyards made in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kasimov, Orel, Tula and the cities of the Urals.

Of particular interest at the exhibition are P. N. Krekshin's exemplary scales, made by order of Empress Elizaveta Petrovna in 1747 at the Sestroretsk Arms Factory in duplicate for the mints of St. Petersburg and Moscow, as well as the exemplary meter and altimeter with the personal signature of D. I Mendeleev.
