Exhibition December 26, 2024 − January 26, 2025
The exhibition is devoted to symbolic subjects in Russian iconography of the 16th century. It will present a monument of the rarest and most complex iconography illustrating the text of Psalm 44 "I will burp my heart with the word of good". This icon is from the collection of the Andrei Rublev Museum. Andrei Rublev Museum collection contains abundant inscriptions accompanying the central throne image of God the Word in royal garb, the images of the Mother of God and John the Baptist in royal crowns, as well as virtually every detail of the image. The icons "Sophia the Wisdom of God" (private collection, Moscow) and "Presta Tsaritsa" (collection of S.A. Khodorkovsky), whose content echoes the main exhibit of the exhibition, are also examples of extraordinary visualization of texts and demonstrate the peculiarities of the interaction between word and image in Russian medieval art.

The curator of the exhibition is S.N. Aitova, junior researcher of the research department of the Andrei Rublev Museum. S.N. Aitova is the curator of the exhibition.
