Biography and information

Painter. He graduated from the faculty of law.faculty of Yuryev University (1911) and St. Petersburg. archaeologist. Institute (1914). Simultaneously. in 1906-07 he studied under A. Vasnetsov in Moscow, in 1907-08, in the studios of F. Rerberg and I. Tsionglinskogo in St. Petersburg. Lived and worked in Petrograd – Leningrad, 1929 in Kiev. Participant of exhibitions since 1915. In 1921-29 the Professor of Leningrad. Vhuteina in 1941-42 and 1945-46 – Kiev hood. in-TA. Picturesque landscapes and still lifes "of the Attic. Winter urban landscape" (1917), "the Wind" (1928), "Sea surf" (1937), "lilacs in a yellow pitcher" (1945), "On the Dnieper" (1947), "still life with violin" (1956), etc.

He lived and worked: 1904-1906, 1929-1970 – Kyiv, 1906 -1907 – Moscow, 1908 -1929 – Petersburg-Petrograd. Father Lada Vladimirovna Vig-Denisova – Ukrainian artist - graphics, set designer, painter, restorer and decorator.

Also studied: 1905-1906 – at the law faculty of Kiev University of St. Vladimir, 1908-1910 – Petersburg, 1910-1911 – Yur'ev (Dorpat, now Tartu) University, 1911-1913 – in St. Petersburg Archaeological Institute. 1913 -1914 – continued art education by visiting the museums of Germany, France, Spain and working in the circle of local artists of the time.

At exhibitions participated since 1915.

In 1926-1929 he was a member of the Leningrad society "Circle of artists". Teacher Viktor Mikhailovich Orchakov, Alexei Fedorovich Pakhomov (Petrograd-Leningrad), Sergei A. Grigoryev (in Kiev).

TAUGHT:

drawing, painting, art history – 1919-1921 – at the VKhUTEMAS (Higher artistic and technical workshops), 1922-1923 – in VHUTEIN (Higher art and technical Institute, former school of Baron Stieglitz), 1923-1925 – the Academy of fine arts, 1926-1929 – on the Highest State courses of arts (Leningrad), 1944-1963 1929-1941 and in the Kiev state art Institute.

As art critic and art historian collaborated in the newspaper "Day" (1912-1918), 1919-1929 – magazine "Life art", "Theaters and circuses". At the same time, in 1925-1928 was the set designer at the Leningrad theatre "Proletarskiy actor" and the Opera Studio of the Leningrad Conservatory. During the revolution he took an active part in creating a new art "Freedom of art" and the work of the newly formed "Union of artists", where he collaborated with poets A. Blok, S. Yesenin, V. Makowski, Director of the armed Forces. Margalida, composer Sergei Prokofiev. The work of V. Denisova is a typical example of the development of the realistic trend of the domestic art of the second half of the 19th century and enriched by achievements of Western schools. Master of fine black and white spatial painting with high culture of color and a classically balanced composition, with a personality identified early in the reading world. In the 1920-ies his works are characterized by the presence of cubist ("the Attic",1917 "still life with Cup", 1918 – all the canvas, oil) and impressionistic ("Wind", 1928) trends. Worked in the genres of landscape (often with a plot) and still life and thematic painting. The main technique is oil, although often turned to watercolors and pastels.. His works are characterized by a warm color with a refined palette of colours and impeccable drawing. Preferred picture of a peaceful state of nature, the main theme is harmony of man and the world. The creative manner characteristic of interest to the tone gradation of color, the desire for texture and to identify shapes of objects.
