Exhibition November 11, 2021 − May 30, 2022
The State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg presents an exhibition "Russian Avant-Garde: Mechanics, Construction, Life".

The exhibition, bringing together artifacts from the collections of 14 Russian museums, institutes, archives and private collections, demonstrates how the universal passion for machinery, industrial modernization and technology in the late 1910s - 1930s was reflected in the art of the avant-garde and how it affected people's everyday life. The exhibition features paintings and drawings, posters, architectural designs, sketches and photographs of theatrical sets and costumes, textile samples, ceramics and everyday objects that celebrate industrialization and experiment with new, "machine" forms and volumes.

Visitors will be able to see exhibits from the collections of the Hermitage, the Russian Museum, the Museum of Theater and Music Art, the Tretyakov Gallery, as well as institutions, archives and private collections.
