Biography and information

Painter, academician of the Academy of the USSR (1949), Merited. worker of arts of RSFSR (1946). He studied in the Petersburg. Of arts (1909-16) F. Rubo and N. Samokish. Since 1923, a member of AHRR. He taught at the Kiev art. the Institute (1935-41), VGIK (1944-48), Mosk. hood. the Institute (1948-51) and Kharkiv hood. the Institute (1950-53), Professor. Pictures on ist.-roar. ("Chongarsky battle", 1927; the panorama "Sturm Perekop", 1929) and industrial themes ("Kuznetskstroy. Domna N1", 1931; "Red Sormovo", 1938), portraits ("I. Shadr", 1936; "Akademik N. Burdenko", 1943; ""Akademik N. Zelinsky", 1947) and other works. The Winner Of The St. St. (1948).

He studied at St. Petersburg Academy of arts (1909-16) at F. A. Rubo and N. S. Samokish.

From 1923 he lived in Moscow. A member of AHRR (1923).

He taught at VGIK (1944-48), the Moscow art Institute (1948-51).

In a number of works reflected the labor enthusiasm of the first five ("Kuznetskstroy. Domna ? 1", 1931, Tretyakov gallery; "Red Sormovo", in 1937, in the Saratov art Museum im. A. N. Radishchev).

Since the late 30-ies. worked as a portraitist (portraits: I. D. Shadr, 1936, Kiev Museum of Russian art; N. D. Zelinsky, 1947, Tretyakov gallery, the State prize of the USSR, 1948).
